A Brief History of the College of Engineering
The beginning of the current College of Engineering at the University of Baghdad was in 1921. It started as an engineering school annexed to Irrigation Directorate. In that year, Iraq had no colleges except for Law College which was established in 1908. Successive changes happened till Engineering College was founded in 1942. Then it consisted of civil engineering only. After that, other scientific departments were opened. Ever since it was established, the College of Engineering has passed through many phases
