Description and Objective of Webinar<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Iraqi Scientific Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering (ISSSMFE) and Civil Engineering Department at University of Baghdad in collaboration with the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) are delighted to offer a new online international webinar on (Historical and Modern Applications in Geotechnical Engineering). Nowadays, sustainable development of old-cities around the world and using sustainable materials and techniques are the main theme of design and construction of projects. One of the biggest challenges facing these projects are geotechnical problems. The geotechnical problems may arise from poor subsurface soil conditions, the presence of nearby structures, high water table levels, and improper selection of underground construction techniques. An important goal of this webinar is to offer networking opportunities and promote debate among geotechnical engineers around the world.<\/p>\n
